WHAT TO EXPECT
JOIN US SUNDAYS AT 10AM
We are committed to biblical worship that prioritizes its corporate nature and highlights the work of God through the gospel. We do this primarily through the singing of songs, prayer, the reading and preaching of God’s Word, and regularly partaking in the ordinances of communion and baptism. You can expect a historical yet modern approach to corporate worship that both celebrates our past and embraces our cultural context.
We are located on the hill across the street from Helix High School and adjacent to the Boys and Girls Club. From this hill, we declare the good news of Jesus Christ, and our desire is for everyone who visits to experience the special community created by the gospel.
We encourage you to come early, grab some coffee, and meet with our family. We hope you’ll feel welcomed and right at home.
Visit us this Sunday!
WHY WE MEET
AS A CHURCH FAMILY, WE MEET EVERY SUNDAY MORNING TO WORSHIP GOD IN RESPONSE TO WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR US IN JESUS CHRIST.
As a family formed and shaped by the gospel, we meet weekly to...
We meet to remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christian worship is a weekly reenactment of the gospel message, leading us to reflect upon our sin, our need to repent, the grace of God, and the power of his salvation.
We meet to celebrate the life-changing power of the gospel and the enduring goodness of God's character. We celebrate not only what God has done for us, but who he is and how he continues to change us in and through the gospel.
We meet to encourage one another in the gospel, allowing it to be the motivation for how we live as worship unto God. Our mutual encouragement stirs us to love one another and propels us to serve each other and the world around us.
We meet to be equipped in the gospel through the preaching of God's Word. The Word of God transforms and equips us to be sent out into the world, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
HILL CITY KIDS
HILL CITY KIDS EXISTS TO GLORIFY GOD BY INTRODUCING YOUTH TO JESUS CHRIST AND EQUIPPING THEM TO BE ACTIVE DISCIPLES.
We strive to do so primarily through the teaching and study of God's Word, and by equipping parents to disciple their children. Our focus is helping youth grow in their knowledge of who they are in Christ (Eph. 3:14-18), practice living out the gospel with one another (John 13:34-35), and proclaiming the gospel to our neighbors in word and deed (Mark 16:15).
SUNDAY MORNINGS
Infant and toddler care are provided during our Sunday morning worship service and Sunday School classes are divided into three age groups: Pre-K (3yr-5yr), Lower Elementary 1st & 2nd, Upper-Elementary (3rd-5th grade).
Sunday mornings begin at the HCK check-in center, where children from infants to 5th grade will get a name tag, while parents get a matching security code label that will be used for child pick-up at the conclusion of the service. Children are then able to be taken to their classrooms.
CURRICULUM
We are currently teaching the Word of God through LifeWay's the Gospel Project for Kids, which walks kids from Genesis to Revelation and unfolds God's rescue plan for humanity, the gospel of Jesus Christ! Kids can expect to hear the Bible read, watch creative videos that retell the Bible stories, and be engaged through games, activities, and crafts that reinforce the gospel message. We also pray for one another, play and sing with friends, and enjoy a snack together (allergy safe), which is just our way of saying a sweet good-bye. Parents are also equipped with a mid-week devotional to take home to share with their kids.
SAFETY
Our desire is to create a safe environment for the children in our church to be engaged with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rest assured that every volunteer working with The Hill City Kidz has completed a live scan background check and harassment awareness training.
All classrooms are equipped with first aid kits, and sensitive to the needs of children with allergies. Additionally, volunteers are members and actively involved in
community group life.
Once children are settled in class, parents are to return to main building until service is over, unless contacted by a teacher.
